Understanding Hand Made (Taken from the CD liner notes) Hand Made is the antithesis of mass-produced; so this CD. The music presented here is culled from demos, live shows and sessions done for various reasons. You may know other recorded versions of some of the songs. In deciding what to include it's been my hope to represent a kind of 'behind the scenes' in the song development process, as most of these tracks are as I originally heard the tunes in my head. The 2 live songs have not been 'studiofied' yet. They reflect the songs conceptually and the fun of trying things out on stage with the band. - Larry Hoppen Songs 1. (My House Is Like A) Zoo (1998) (Larry Hoppen) - Recorded LIVE with the Larry Hoppen Band Larry Hoppen: guitars, keyboards, vocals Jon Werking: keyboards, vocals Cliff Lyons: sax, vocals Paul Adamy: bass Clint deGannon: drums, vocals This song appears on the Orleans CD "Still The One - Live" which was released in 2002, and is still performed by the band at shows to this day. While fans may not readily recognize the song it always ends up being a crowd favorite once they hear it. The version on "Hand Made" which is performed by The Larry Hoppen Band is dramatically different than the Orleans version with the sax and piano solos. Both "Hand Made" and "Still The One - Live" can be purchased at Larry's' Official website, a link has been posted at the bottom of the page. This remains the only Blues song written by Larry. 7. One Of The Lucky Ones (1995 demo) (Larry Hoppen) This song was recorded on Larry's/The Unherd CD "Looking For The Light" which was released in 1996. This is the demo version of that song. 8. Yestertime (1991 demo) (Larry Hoppen & Bob Leinbach) This song eventually found it's home on the Orleans CD "Ride" which was released in 1996, unfortunately not may people heard it. In 2005 Orleans included the song on their long awaited CD "Dancin' In The Moonlight". 9. I Found Somebody (1989 demo) (Larry Hoppen & Bob Leinbach) Additional Vocals - Bob Leinbach This song was performed live at the Bearsville Theatre in Woodstock, NY which was then released as "Orleans Live" (1991) in Japan and later on the near impossible to find "Orleans Live Volume 2" (1993) in the U.S. 10. Love Is Love (1996) (Larry Hoppen) Recorded with The UnHerd in 1996 for the "Looking For The Light" CD. The UnHerd is Larry Hoppen: vocals, guitars, keyboards Rob Leon: bass Terry Silverlight: drums David Sancious: Keyboards. Choir: Lance Hoppen, Anne Lang, Terry Pinkham, Billy Squier, Bob Leinbach, Cornelius Bumpus, Jeff Pinkham 11. Love Takes Time (1997 Remake) (Larry Hoppen) An updated version of the classic Orleans hit which appeared on their 1979 album "Forever". Larry Hoppen: Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards Lance Hoppen: Bass, Vocals Bob Leinbach: Vocals Peter O'Brien: Drums 12. Keep On Shining (1996) (Larry Hoppen) "Keep On Shining" was first recorded by Orleans in 1982 for the "One Of A Kind" album. This is a new version of that song with Larry and Terry Pinkham on vocals and was included on The UnHerds' 1996 CD "Looking For The Light". The UnHerd is Larry Hoppen: vocals, guitars, keyboards Rob Leon: bass Terry Silverlight: drums David Sancious: Keyboards. Backing vocals: Lance Hoppen, Bob Leinbach 13. A Season To Remember (1998 demo) (Larry Hoppen) 14. Spring Fever (2010 Hand Made Reissue) (Larry Hoppen & Marilyn Mason) History & Interesting Facts 1. Hand Made was reissued in 2010 with a new version of Spring Fever, which originally appeared on the Orleans LP "Waking and Dreaming". Previously this version of Spring Fever only appeared on the Japanese version of the CD. The cover art/booklet are the same. The CD can be purchased HERE. 2. No Singles were released from this CD.
